BeetleBug YBY, Yellow, Black, Yellow Now Available

Last summer we introduced the BeetleBug CBC, Chartreuse, Black, Chartreuse, popper with a concave face, and we were very pleased by the response – we sold out twice and had to make more to fill all the orders.  Now, at your request, we have it available in Yellow, Black, Yellow, yellow body, black hackle, yellow tail and white rubber legs on a number 8 hook.  It is called BeetleBug YBY.  This yellow popper has all the right characteristics for catching pan fish.  It has a flat face to create less turbulence than the BeetleBug CBC which has a concave face, and it has three bright red “strike point” dots on its belly.

Perfect for bluegill fly fishing and it is reasonably priced.

Poppers made from the Cypress Root

Durable, buoyant Cypress root bodies give Bea Bea Bad Boys and Bea’s Poppers a unique alternative to cork, balsa, or foam.

Cypress root bodies

A hard, buoyant, rot-resistant material that holds paint well and floats correctly.

Two proven shapes

Choose the round-nose Bea Bea Bad Boy or the concave-face Bea’s Popper.

Sizes 8 and 10

Both designs are available in classic hook sizes for bluegill and other panfish.

A different kind of popper body

The bodies of all the Bea Bea Bad Boys and Bea’s Poppers are made from the root of the Cypress tree. It is an excellent and unique alternative to cork, balsa, or foam because it is durable and rot-resistant.

Bea Bea Bugs makes two different body shapes. The Bea Bea Bad Boy has a round nose. It was not designed as a popper, but it is still deadly on bluegill. There are eleven different models to choose from, with model #15 among the most popular thanks to its chartreuse body, black hackle, chartreuse tail, and eight chartreuse rubber legs.

Bea’s Popper has a concave face that creates a pop sound when the fly line is stripped. It uses the same eye-catching chartreuse body, black hackle, chartreuse tail, and chartreuse rubber legs. Both designs are available in hook sizes 8 and 10.

As cork becomes more expensive and scarce, the root of the Cypress tree becomes more attractive. The wood is hard and buoyant, holds paint well, floats correctly, is reasonably priced, and catches fish.
