Description
A classic nymph pattern tied by Terry Wilson and modified for bluegill, Crappie, smallmouth bass, and trout fly fishing. The North Fork Nymph is designed to represent Mayflies. Originally tied for trout after a rock-turning foray, has its tail and abdomen tied with cock pheasant tail feathers. Hook size 12 only.
Wilson’s North Fork Nymph – Electric Blue is a BreamBugs nymph fly selected for bluegill, bass, crappie, and trout anglers who want natural movement, fish-catching profile, and dependable fly-box versatility. Recently I used this as the dropper on popper/dropper rig, underneath a green foam spider. I caught a number of bass in the 1-2 lb range and quite a few 1 1/2 lb red ears. I wouldn't be without them now!
