Well, I have just about every fly you sell, I can tell you that some work better that others but they all catch fish! I need what you don’t sell…
Warm dry weather. The rain has all the rivers at flood stage here in south GA, and the cold has them biting very slow.
But, I have all the fishing gear a man could ever use……. Time and good weather! That is all that’s needed.
I fly fish for bass and trout and that is for the most part due to locale and seasons. I luv fishing for bluegills but I’m just not located in a area where they are primary species. I wished I understood crappie better. I have them in local lakes but have never figured out how to pin point location or flies to catch them. Most my summer fishing is bass and you guys are my number one source for booglebugs. Thanks, Greg
I agree, we need warm weather SOON! Its 11 degrees here today. Thanks for being a loyal customer.
We fly fish for bream species, primarily bluegill. My best producer by far has been the Pultz Bluegill Special. Also use the big body spider and the Ligon Bream Killer. I grew up in Baton Rouge (the home of Acardo) and remember full walls covered with Arcardo bugs.
Thank you for your reply. The flies you use are some of our top sellers. I remember Accardo, too, its sad that they did not survive. Take a look at the Accardo REPRODUCTIONS made by Brack N Brine are about as close to the original Accardo poppers as can be made.
Crappie are funny fish, sometimes in the Spring I catch a few on top water popping bugs but most are caught on a sinking fly. I good fly to try is the Wilson’s Crappie Bully. Thank you for being a loyal customer.
I fish for bull bream here in Marksville,la on Spring Bayou complex. We need warm weather for things to really kick off. We catch bass as a bonus while fishing popping bugs. Catch a few crappie on sinking baits. Like the durability of all the spiders and bugs we use. Great products

I fly fish for bluegill, bass, crappie, trout, and many other species. Located in Northwest Florida I mainly fly fish for bluegill and bass with a popper for fresh water species, then a lot of saltwater species like redfish, seatrout, etc.
I have only purchased booglebugs since you all seem to be the most reliable source for them on the internet. I find the black booglebullet seems to be the best for bluegill and bass, in different sizes of course.
Thank you for your reply and your kind comments. We are the only BoogleBug distributor that carries all the different models in all the hook sizes that BoogleBug makes. Thank you for being a loyal customer.
I fly fish mainly for Bluegill (occasionally a Redear and goggle-eye). I do appreciate your website and seeing all the different poppers you post.
Thank you for your kind words about our website and our poppers. We try hard to have the best selection of poppers available anywhere. Thank you for being a loyal customer.

I agree with ALL the above concerning a little less rain and warmer temps. I fish for trout in the cooler months in streams & tailwaters locally, but spend my summers fishing for bream & bass. I catch large mouth bass on poppers, but smallmouths are normally a bit deeper. For them I use a dropper system with a large Boogle Bug on top water and a bead headed nymph below. Would like to learn more about small mouth & crappie lures & techniques.
Thank you for your reply. Terry and Roxanne Wilson have a book titled, “Crappie Fly Fishing”, that will give you some insight into Crappie fly fishing. You can find the book under Accessories on our web site. It is my understanding that they are also working on a book on Small Mouth Bass fly fishing. As for the dropper system you mentioned, we have a Popper/Dropper rig listed under leaders that allows you to change poppers and flies with out cutting you leader. If you will send me an email with your mailing address we will send you a free Popper/Dropper rig. Send the email to: info@breambugs.com Thank you for being a loyal customer.
It’s even cool down here in central FL. I enjoy fly fishing for anything. But would love to learn more about the crappie fishing as well. Also we have a shad run that is very popular as well. Any recommendations on that would be great. Thanks.
To learn more about fly fishing for Crappie you might consider the book, “Crappie Fly Fishing”, by Terry and Roxanne Wilson. They also make a very good Crappie fly called Crappie Bully. Another sinking fly used for Crappie is the Upside Down Bream Killer. For shad lures take a look at the Wilson’s Li’l Shad and Conrad’s Murdish Minnow Shiner, both work well during shad runs.
Definitely bluegill…cuz I love eating’em
The best tasting fresh water fish!
Hi,
I fly fish for trout, salmon and bass. During the summer months, it’s pretty much all top water bass in lakes. Love the anticipation of the top water strike.
I just discovered your site while searching for hard body bass bugs that resemble the ones I bought a few years ago in a fly shop while on a trip. They have been great bass producers for me and I’m down to my last one. Just can’t find them.
I purchased some Walt Cary #12s from you and they are nicely constructed and will see action this season.
I just placed an order for the Rio Big Nastys. They sound like they are perfect for the big bass flies we throw.
I am glad you found us. You will enjoy and appreciate the Big Nasty Leaders.
How do hook sizes run as far as what is large or smaller
The smaller the number the larger the hook or the larger the number the smaller the hook. Confusing, I know, but its what it is!
