Miskito Coast Popper/Dropper Rig 10 lb Test

Description

The Miskito Coast Popper/Dropper Rig 10 lb test is made using monofilament leader.  The Popper/Dropper Rig is 10 feet long 10 lb test (Why 10 lb test?  When you get two big bluegill or two big bass on this rig at the same time you will be happy it is 10 lb test!)  This leader incorporates the use of the popular Quick-Change Snaps to make it easy to quickly change flies or poppers without the burden of tying the fly on and cutting the leader each time you make a change.  The first Quick-Change Snap is tied to the end of the leader.  About 20 inches up the leader is the second Quick-Change Snap.  On the end Snap put on a sinking fly, we suggest something like the Ligon Bream Killer or the Spider Bugger size 8, and on the second Snap put on a floating popper something like the Pultz Little Fatty CBC in hook size 6 or 4.  The floating popper becomes your strike indicator.  Do not be surprised if you catch two fish on one cast, one on the sinking fly and one on the popper.

Benefits – It is not unusual to catch two fish on one cast.  Additionally, having both a sinking fly and a top water popper helps determine where the fish are feeding, on the surface or under water.
