I reviewed once again simply because I noticed that I didn't give it 5 stars, which was an error. It has been a 5 star lure since the beginning. Best dry fly for bluegills made.

I wrote the review about and I don't remember giving it 2 stars, must have been an error. This lure gets 5 STARS. Indeed it does. If you love this one you will love Terry's Bully Spider wet fly. When big blues go deep the Bully will still catch um.

This is my second review of the Yellow Sponge Spider. I now proclaim it to be the best lure for catching Bluegills I have ever fished with, bar none (up to this point in my 64 yr old life). I love it.

First of all, I am no relation to the maker of Wilson's Sponge Spider. I fish for Bluegills at least once a week on the Flint River behind my house, sometimes 3 times a week. I flyfish only. No crickets, no worms. In the past two weeks I have used the Yellow Sponge Spider on two occasions. Fishing from my 14' jon boat, both times I had 5 outfits rigged up, all with different flys for Bream. Why five? I don't know, I just like getting my rods ready, tying knots, and having them with me. Four were tied with my old favorites. One with the Yellow Sponge Spider. I report that the fishing was slow both mornings, as we have had 100 degree weather lately here in SouthWest Georgia. I hardly had any luck with the others, except an occasional fish on an artificial Cricket. However, I caught a lot of fish on both trips with the Yellow Spider. I finally managed to lose both my Sponge Spiders, one in a tree too high to get to, and another to a tree stump that had a rather large Wasp nest, so I just cut the line instead of taking the chance of disturbing them. Man, there must have been 200 Wasps on that nest. Big as a dinner plate. I hightailed it out of there real slowly. To make a long story short, this morning I ordered 12 new Wilson Sponge Spiders, 6 yellow, 3 green, & 3 red with black legs. I highly recommend this bug. Of course its a dry fly, so you need to go early or late.
