Miskito Coast 10lb test Popper/Dropper Rig

The new 10lb test Popper/Dropper rig is made using the same premium monofilament used in our Miskito Coast All Purpose Leaders. The Popper/Dropper rig is a 10 foot long, 10lb test.  Why 10lb test?  When you catch a bass and a bluegill, or two bass at one time, you will be happy it’s a 10lb test. This knotted leader uses the popular Quick Change Snaps to make it easy to quickly change flies without the burden of cutting the leader and tying on a new fly each time you make a change.  The first Quick Change Snap is tied on the end of the leader.  About 20″ up the leader is the second Quick Change Snap.  On the end you put a sinking fly.  We suggest the Ligon Bream Killer hook size 6 or 8.  On the other Snap put on a larger popper, we suggest something like the BoogleBullet or Rollie Pollie in hook size 4 or 6.  The popper becomes your strike indicator.  Don’t be surprised if you catch two fish at the same time, one on the sinking fly and one on the popper.

Benefits

It is not uncommon to catch two fish on one cast.  Also, having both a floating fly and a sinking fly helps determine where the fish are feeding, surface or under water.
