Wow! So you are affiliated with accardo fishing flies. 20 years ago when i was a teenager i used accardo flies and slaughtered bream and shellcrackers on em. Then graduated high school and had to start working for a living. But im slowing down now and fixing to stsrt back fishing. I was raised in des allemands but have finally settled in childersburg al. Im guessing by now mr tony accardo has passed away? Good to hear somebody picked up his designs and carried on the tradition.

Thank you for your kind words about the Accardo Tackle Company. I was fortunate enough to have represented them from 2006 to 2012. Unfortunately, they went out of business. I was fortunate enough to receive the salesmen’s sample kit as a gift from Matt Accardo, Tony’s son. I miss them, they were enjoyable to work with.

Breambugs’ tyers however do it justice in recreating these Southern warm water staples of panfish poppers and wet flies along with the newer bench tied wonders. Although Accardo used a heavy primer and multi coat process with a hard as nails finish than the newbies use. Seldom and I mean seldom did the hackle un-Palmer from the hook shank on an Accardo fly. Made in the USA was never truer.

I got to shake Tony’s hand and a hearty thank you always extended at the Henry’s Tackle Show and ICAST trade industry shows in the last great century for US made fly tackle and accessories.
